Charity Fundraising: Help Us To Make A Difference
As part of our 45th birthday celebrations, we began to not only look back at our story but also look forward to how we can give back to the local community that has served us well for over 45 years.
That’s why we’ve committed to raising money for a very worthy cause. Our chosen charity to support is – NNS: Fighting Childhood Cancer.
This is an exceptional local charity based in Wellingborough, working hard to raise awareness for children with neuroblastoma. Together, we’ll fight back against children’s cancer and make a real difference to the lives of young people and everyone affected by this.
NNS' Story
If you aren’t aware of what neuroblastoma is and how it affects children, then you’re not alone. One part of what the NNS sets out to do is to educate people. Neuroblastoma is a rare childhood cancer that affects around 100 children in the UK each year, most often those under the age of five and can even affect babies before birth.
The NNS is fighting this disease in several key ways:
• raising awareness
• helping families affected
• funding research
The story started with Niamh, who tragically lost her battle with neuroblastoma in 2012 at the age of five. Niamh’s story has inspired the NNS (it stands for Niamh’s Next Step) and touched the hearts of many – her legacy, as well as the NNS’s, is to change and save lives.
What We're Doing
We’ve been inspired by Niamh’s story, like so many others over the years. That’s why all of us at T&K Home Improvements have committed to joining the cause to raise awareness and much-needed funds for this worthy charity. After 45 years of working closely with our local community, this is the perfect next step to help make a real difference to a charity and to the people affected by this heartbreaking condition.

T&K's Charity Events Make A Real Difference
Over £42,000 Raised So Far
We’re incredibly proud to support Niamh’s Next Step through our annual charity golf events. Thanks to the generosity of our customers, suppliers, partners and everyone who took part, we’ve now raised more than £42,000 to help the charity continue its vital work supporting children and young people with additional needs, along with their families. Seeing so many people come together year after year to make a real difference is something we’re truly grateful for, and each event continues to grow thanks to the fantastic support we receive. This was recently covered by the Northamptonshire Telegraph, helping to raise even more awareness for this very important charity.
Giving back to our local community has always been at the heart of what we do, and we’re honoured to play a small part in helping Niamh’s Next Step provide life-changing opportunities for local families. We’d like to thank everyone who has sponsored, donated, volunteered or joined us on the golf course — your support has made this incredible fundraising achievement possible. We’re already looking forward to building on this success at future events and continuing our partnership with such an inspiring charity.
