Looking Back On The G21 Awards

The beginning of the year can be an exciting time to plan for the future but it can also be a reflective time to look back at what has been. For many, 2021 was another challenging period, an extension of the difficulties still lingering from the unprecedented year prior. As we look back we would like to recall one of our highlights. At the end of last year, our fabricator, and sister company, Emplas took home the ‘Best Fabricator’ from the G21 awards. 

Fabricator Of The Year

The ceremony was held at Hilton Park Lane, London in the waning days of November. For those of you who may not yet be aware, the G-Awards are a celebration of innovation and achievement within the home improvement industry. The competition for the coveted award was fierce, with the industry’s most acclaimed fabricators all throwing their hats into the ring for the chance. 

However, fortunately, despite some of the impressive feats of their contemporaries, Emplas took home the prize, making it the second time in the last six years they’ve driven home with it.

A Group Effort

When collecting the award, Ryan Johnson (Managing Director, Emplas), paid tribute to all those involved including the Emplas team, their supply partners and customers alike. He spoke of the ‘challenge’ the past couple of years have presented but how the professionalism of both customers and supply partners alike during the pandemic and its fallout, contributed to this victory. 

Of course, he did not understate the contribution of the Emplas team whose passion and commitment to their craft over this challenging time made all of this possible. Looking back what really stands out is that Emplas has never slowed down due to setbacks of the past two years but merely adapted. 

They have continued to innovate and produce new products in this time as well as invest in new systems and technology. They were also some of the first manufacturers to pioneer our path out of lockdown. In order to get the rest of the industry back in full swing, they began to share resources with the wider industry. In Ryan’s own words, “We Didn’t really stop… and not only us but the industry.” 

The evening ended with celebration as Ryan concluded his acceptance speech for best fabricator he remarked on what it was truly about, “We’re delighted to have picked up an award but seeing colleagues from the industry, catching up in person, and letting our hair down with friends really what the night was all about”. Whatever comes next for them and whatever challenges present themselves we’re certain they will be ready and we are delighted to take this journey with them.
