For T&K Home Improvements, it’s something we’ve thought about as our service area has grown over the years.

It started with Northamptonshire

T&K has been helping homeowners improve their properties since 1979, with Northamptonshire at the heart of the business.

That means we’ve had more than 40 years to get to know the area, the homes people live in and, perhaps most importantly, what homeowners expect from a company working on their property. Over time, that local reputation has taken us further afield.

Today, we work with homeowners across a much wider area, including parts of Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Buckinghamshire, Nottinghamshire and Cambridgeshire, and our reach continues to grow.

Local doesn’t necessarily mean nearby

There’s an obvious benefit to choosing a local home improvement company.

You’re not just buying a product. You’re inviting a team of people into your home, often to carry out work that will be there for decades.

You want to know who you’re dealing with. You want experienced installers. You want somewhere to turn if you have a question after the work is finished. That doesn’t change simply because the address on the quote is a little further away.

As T&K’s service area has expanded, we’ve taken the same approach with us: experienced people, quality products, professional installation and a commitment to looking after customers properly.

From one local area to many

Our growing coverage now means we can help homeowners in places well beyond our Northamptonshire roots.

That includes established areas around Northampton, Kettering, Wellingborough, Corby and Daventry, as well as towns and cities further afield such as Rugby, Coventry, Milton Keynes, Peterborough and Market Harborough.

We’re also expanding our reach into more areas across Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

For homeowners in these areas, that means another established option when it comes to replacing windows, choosing new doors or making other improvements to their homes.

For us, it means getting to know even more homeowners and communities.

Why expand?

The simple answer is that we want to help more people.

Our reputation has grown through the recommendations of existing customers, the quality of our work and the experience we’ve built up over many years. As more homeowners have discovered T&K, it has made sense for us to extend the areas in which we can offer our products and installation services.

But we’re not interested in expanding simply for the sake of having a bigger footprint. Every new area needs to work for our customers as well as for us. We want to be confident that we can provide the same standard of service, installation and aftercare wherever we work.

That’s why our expansion is being approached carefully, allowing us to build our coverage over time rather than trying to be everywhere at once.

So, how far can a local company reach?

Quite a long way, it seems.

But perhaps being local isn’t really about the number of miles between a company’s head office and your front door. It’s about how that company treats its customers.

At T&K, we’ve spent more than four decades building our business around that principle. We’re proud of our Northamptonshire roots, but we’re equally proud that homeowners further afield are now choosing us to improve their homes.
