Door handles are often fitted with a key-operated locking cylinder and, in many cases, lifting the handle up will activate a multi-point locking system or another type of door locking hardware.
Entrance doors come with a wider variety of handle styles than other types of door. For a modern-looking entrance door, you might consider a bar or bow handle, whilst a swan neck handle provides the perfect complement to a more traditional aesthetic. Pad door handles are also available for our uPVC entrance doors, plus timber entrance doors come with door handles that emulate classic ironmongery designs.
Patio doors, however, have only one choice for the handle style, although they come in a selection of colours. Our timber and aluminium bifold doors also come with a number of door handle styles along with a selection of colours.

Letter plates are usually fitted to front doors, as this is the only door that postmen/women tend to have access to. However, if postal access is required on a back door of some kind, a letter plate can be fitted here too.
They are available in a selection of colour finishes along with modern and traditional styles. Flap letterboxes have a more modern appearance whilst Victorian letter plates are better suited to homes of that period and other traditional surroundings.
Chrome-coloured handles and furniture are great choices for white doors, whilst you will often see gold furniture fitted on black and brown doors. However, beauty is, of course, in the eye of the beholder so you might find you prefer a totally different finish for the furniture.

A great option for anyone who doesn’t have a doorbell, a door knocker is another great way to give a front door a certain kind of look. They can also be fitted with a spyhole, which can be useful for security purposes. Spyholes allow you to see who is outside the door without having to open it.
They come in traditional and modern designs along with a selection of colours. Ring and urn door knockers are better suited to classic-looking doors whilst slimline variants match contemporary entrance doors beautifully.
Door chains are fitted onto the internal part of the door leaf. They allow you to slightly open a door to speak to someone outside, receive post, etc. whilst still restricting access to your home. For this reason, they’re a very useful security feature.
A door pull is a small, curved hook which can be used to pull the door closed. They’re often fitted around a keyhole and the escutcheon is a small plate that conceals the keyhole. They were regularly used on front doors before door handles became the more popular option. Therefore, they’re great for giving front doors a more traditional feel.
Numerals can be useful for helping people to identify which house is yours, especially if it’s not present anywhere else on your home. They come in a selection of colours to match the other types of door furniture.
