How It Started vs How It's Going
45 years ago, T&K Home Improvements started out with a dream – to provide the highest quality double glazed windows and doors in and around Northamptonshire. Since then, we’ve grown to be one of the most renowned and trusted names in the industry, with more than four decades of experience behind us and many more ahead.
From our success in both installation and manufacturing, Emplas was born. For the best part of our existence, Emplas has been there and has gone on to become one of the biggest fabricators of uPVC windows and doors in the UK – leading the way, alongside us, on product development, technical innovation and market-leading manufacturing processes. We couldn’t be more proud!
If we could go back in time and tell our team in 1979 what we are like in 2024, they would say – Why are you dressed like that, and how did you get here? And what are the winning lottery numbers next week? But I’m sure that alongside their terror at time travel, they would be delighted as to see that T&K is still going strong – stronger than ever – 45 years on.
45 Years of (Home) Improvement
2024 is a very different place to 1979. Picture the scene: the Bee Gees are battling it out with Blondie in the charts, Moonraker and Alien are vying for box office supremacy, and the less said about Margaret Thatcher, the better. And as the T&K Home Improvements team set out in their vans, they know exactly what they need to offer their customers.
But 45 years on, customers’ expectations have shifted significantly (never mind the wildly different music industry, the fact that we’re still getting sequels to the same films from the ‘70s, and, well, at least it’s not Thatcher). We’re all increasingly aware of energy efficiency and carbon footprints, saving money on heating bills in light of the energy cap rises, and keeping homes safe and secure in an increasingly unsafe and uncertain climate.

Looking Back & Giving Back
As well as looking back over the last 45 years, we’re keen to make this a time for looking forward. Something all the T&K team are passionate about in 2024 and beyond is giving back to our local community, particularly the very worthy charities in need of support. This year, we’ve partnered with NNS in their fight against childhood cancer.
Over the course of the year, keep an eye on our website and social media channels for news and updates on what we’re doing to raise money for this charity. We’ll be organising some fun-filled events for us and the local community to promote this worthy cause, increase awareness and fundraise to make a real difference for young children to triumph over cancer.

What’s Next?
We’re not ones to rest on our laurels. With 45 years of experience and stunning installations under our belts, there’s only one thing on our minds: How are we going to get even better and do more for our customers?
